The ancient Chinese art of Feng Shui, is defined as the placement of different objects to let the energy (Chi) flow better and harmoniously in your house and work space. Feng Shui offers us the opportunity to achieve health, happiness, love, prosperity and well being through living in harmony with our environment.
 In the practice of Feng Shui we align our homes (house, condo, apartment) and businesses according to the Bagua. The Bagua is the map of our life stations, such as Relationships, Health and Abundance. We enhance a life station by calling its energy into our lives. The markings on the Bagua mirror are a kind of shorthand, representing the energies of the Cosmos. |

W | Here is an example of the plan of a house placing the Bagua map on top to align with all our lives areas. There are 8 guas. The career gua is always set at the front entrance of your home and it is always considered North, no matter where the entrance / front door really faces according to a compass. Helpful People & Travel is set at the right corner opposite to the Relationships gua. The Wisdom and Knowledge gua is set at the left corner opposite to the Wealth and Abundance gua. (See illustration). You also can set the imaginary Bagua map on each room, and make the arrangements so you can get the same benefits. |

Some general Feng Shui Tips
Feng Shui practices work in mysterious ways. I have applied myself many of the principles in different areas, and amazingly, I have gotten very good results. Feng Shui has worked for me and I am sure it will work for you.
Here are a few small and inexpensive things you can do in your home to make it as harmonious as possible:
Arrange furniture so you can face the doors while sitting.
Making the environment much more comfortable, by sitting away from drafts, and adjusting lighting.
Cleaning up clutter will help you relax and help you find things easier. If your home is cluttered and disorganized it is difficult for your thoughts to flow freely.
A large mirror behind a stove so that you won't be surprised when someone comes up behind you.
A mirror up at the end of a hallway so that it does not seem like a dead-end.
Paths between rooms and through rooms wide and easy to use, this allows you to walk around easily, as well as promoting chi.
Oil your doors so they don't squeak, this will reduce irritation.
Add colors or art to bring in desired energy.
Add trees, plants or upward lighting to raise energy.
Our homes speak for our lives. For instance, if the door to someone's room does not open fully it indicates that they are not opening themselves to new opportunities. It is very important to keep the space behind your door clutter free.
Keep your windows clean and in good repair.
Place a crystal cluster on the left of your desk to call prosperity into your home.
Place a mirror on top of the stove that reflects the burners. It will double the abundance and wealth in your home.
Always keep toilet seat down and bathroom door closed at all times. (So the flushing water doesn't drain your wealth away).
Fix all leaky drains.
Tips to increase prosperity in your home.-
Enhancing colors: Purple, red and green
The Wealth and Abundance gua is located in the Southeast corner of your home or business. In each room it is located in the rear left corner of the Bagua map. If you want to attract prosperity and see your finances grow you must enhance this area.
A waterfall or fountain in the Wealth/Abundance gua of your yards calls prosperity into your life.
Pictures of water flowing will do if you can't put a fountain here.
Start a fish bowl or tank and place it in the wealth corner. When you feed your fish, visualize your finances growing.
Hang up a bamboo flute, with red tassels in both ends, on top of your front door (inside).
Place a large amethyst cluster (or 3 small ones) in the wealth area.
Light purple candles in the wealth areas of your home. (See photograph)
Place 3 Chinese coins tied together with a red ribbon in your wallet or checking accounts booklet (See photograph)
Also you can hang these 3 coins in the font doorknob inside.
Tips to increase health in your family.-
Enhancing colors: Blue and green.
The Health and Family gua is located East corner of your home or business. In each room it is located in the left middle section of the Bagua map.
Place live and healthy plants in the health area of your home to increase/stimulate good health for those who live there.
Arrange your furniture and ornaments in the health area in green and blue tones to activate this area.
Place a lucky bamboo plant on the health gua.
Green is the color of health and healing.
Put a turtle as an ornament to symbolize long life.
Place a big or small mirrors on the walls in this area to increase and stimulate health.
Hang here pictures of your family and/or friends.
Burn incense, use essential oils, or some sort of aromatherapy.
Green is the color of health and healing.
Tips to enhance a happy relationship.-
Enhancing colors: Red, pink and white
The Love and Relationships gua is located in the Southwest corner of your home or business. In each room it is located in the rear right section of the Bagua map. You must enhance this area to attract new love or improve your current relationship.
Have your bedroom lights changed to a soft pink color.
Pink is a suitable color to decorate bedroom to increase romance. Pink walls or a pink comforter set. A pink crystal quartz, maybe in a heart shape.
Have pink roses or flower arrangements (not necessarily fresh flowers, silk will do) in the relationship gua of your bedroom.

Place pictures of both of you, as a couple, in the bedroom. If possible do not have pictures of you alone, because it will lead to more loneliness.
Having a live plant with pink flowers in this area is very helpful to increase communication between partners. Live plants will be very helpful for single people, to increase love and romance in this area.
Place symbols of love and marriage in this corner.
A pink crystal quartz, maybe in a heart shape.
Avoid having mirrors in the bedroom, as they may lead to restless sleep. Do not place the bed under a window.
Sleep with your head towards one of your auspicious directions.
Do not keep things underneath the bed.
Tips to enhance your career or work.-
Enhancing colors: Blue & Black
The Career gua is located in the North of your home or business. In each room is located in the front middle section of the Bagua map.
Place a real water fountain if possible in this area, if not then a poster or picture will do. (Blue color).
Place pictures or symbols of your dream career or job.
Hang a wind chime outside your front door to bring in more opportunities.
Place a birdbath or feeder in the yard to attract wild life, which will increase the amount of energy around your home.
Make sure your address is clearly visible from the street at all times.
Put a colorful and inviting welcome mat at the front door.
Make sure all doors (front and rooms doors) open fully, to avoid limiting your opportunities.
Keep your front yard clean from clutter or debris. Clutter blocks the flow of good chi (energy).
A green plant in this area symbolizes career growth.
Put a blue or black rug at your front door to symbolically allow the opportunities to flow.
Place your work station (or computer) desk with the best overall view of the room and the door.
Photographs of an aspiration such as a university, or a company brochure if applying for a job.

Enhancing colors: White, Black and Grays.
The Helpful People & Travel gua is located Northwest corner of your home or business. In each room is located in the front right section of the Bagua map.
Have silver ornaments, angels, or silver picture frames of your mentors or spiritual guides in this gua.

Hang frame photos or posters of your destination, o put them on a table or desk so you can see often. Visualize yourself already there.

Call knowledge into your life with a lamp, lantern or candle in the Knowledge and Self-Cultivation gua. Good lighting is essential in this area.
Light this lamp/lantern or candle daily with the intention of increasing your knowledge.
Place a small bookcase with books to reflect your knowledge.
Frame words of wisdom.
Put plants in this area. Plants represent growth.
Keep this area clean, neat and clutter free or it will create clutter in your daily life.
Place anything that can enhance your knowledge, like a globe, encyclopedia, or any other educational books.

Tips to enhance Fame and Reputation gua.-
Enhancing color: Red
The Fame & Reputation gua is located South side of your home or business. In each room is located in the rear middle section of the Bagua map. If you desire recognition, or establish a good reputation, or you would like to be well known for something you do, then enhance this area.
To enhance your reputation display your diplomas, awards, trophies, letters of recognition, etc.
Red is an important color in this area, it is said to active the fame and reputation gua. Place red ornaments or paint some red on the walls. If there is no room to paint because there is a window, put a red blind or curtains.
Use red in furniture or furnishings, lampshades, bedspreads, tablecloth, etc.
Display a physical symbol of a future goal.
Place symbols of success, or visualization boards with goals displayed.
If you are reserved about displaying your awards, diplomas, etc. then place them behind a picture, in a cabinet, behind any furniture placed in this area.
Fire is the element in this gua; this is a good place to put a fireplace.
Tips to enhance the Children and Creativity gua.-
Enhancing colors: White, pastels and metals
The Children & Creativity gua is located in the West corner of your home or business. In each room is located in the middle right section of the Bagua map. Enhance this area if you want to be more creative, or if you want to have more babies, or if you want to improve your relationship with children.
Stimulate your creativity by displaying childlike articles in this area.
Place in this gua several family photos of children.

This is a very good area to do crafts, artwork or just to get creative.

Enhancing colors: Yellow and Earth tones
The Earth - Your gua is located in the center of your home or business. In each room it is located in the center section of the Bagua map. The center or heart is a special place. It holds your physical energies. Here is where the occupants of the house meet and where the energies accumulate and flow on. The center should be treated well, be bright and welcoming, not cluttered.
This area must have earth elements like a live plant that is growing in some fresh soil.
Yellow and earth tones: adding yellow flowers.
Yellow or earth tones candles.
The center is one of the best places to put stone ornaments or statues.
The center is a good place to practice meditation and yoga.
Also is a good place for dancing and exercising.
Practice here a lot of Laughter, this is the best medicine. Place here something that makes you laugh.
Have here a mix of different shapes, like squares and flat items. I.e.: a flat, square stone coffee table.
There are home enhancers like the following ones, which include the 5 elements:
1. On a dining room wooden table, place a glass bowl with fruits, red apples, green pears, yellow bananas, etc.
2. On a wooden coffee table, place a glass bowl with water, fill it with glass beads, coins, floating flowers and floating candles. (See photograph)
Burn Incense.-
Whenever possible burn sandalwood incense. It is an old Chinese tradition to burn incense to clean the environment from negative vibrations, i.e.: right after an unpleasant visit or experience. Burning incense will raise the energy in your home.
