Isabels Inspirations

How my jewellery making started -

I am going to tell you an amazing story. When I was young I noticed that I inherit my parents' inclination for art in the form of painting, and drawing. They used to draw and paint beautifully, and I enjoyed looking at their drawing and copying them. I knew I had some art in my hands, but through all my youth I knew that I did not have a clue about jewellery making.

On December 31, 1985, my mom died. Next day, still in tears, it was like she became an angel who guided me to look into her chest of drawers. I found one of them full of old fashion jewellery. Without knowing what I was doing, I started to modernize these necklaces.

I was mixing beads and of course, because I did not know what to use to form a necklace, I used a double (thick) common thread. I spent hours and days working on these necklaces, because these reminded me to her so much. It made me so happy to work with something she left for me like a legacy, and I didn't imagine it will continue for many years to come. My family saw that I was doing beautiful necklaces, and told me I was losing money, that I should sell them. I don't know how to sell I answered; and they offered me to help to sell them in their offices.

I used to work at a Bank at that time, where all the female staff wore a uniform. So, to adorn myself, I started to wear my new designs, and my coworkers started to notice my necklaces, then I said that I made them myself. "Please bring a bunch, everybody asked me. We'll buy from you. We want to brighten these dull uniforms too". Soon, most of the necklaces I made were all sold.

One thing led to the other, like magic, and I met the right people who showed me where to buy supplies and give a nice professional finish to my necklaces. Soon, I was selling to most of my female co-workers at the bank. By word of mouth I started selling to other banks, and offices in downtown Lima. It was for me very satisfactory to watch so many ladies wearing my designs. Not only ladies would buy my necklaces, but also gentlemen bought them as a gift to their girlfriends or wives.

This new hobby became a successful business, because I started to design for cosmetic factories, and boutiques. Soon, I was making more money than working full-time at an office. I manufactured all kinds of jewellery, chockers, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, using all sorts of materials, pearls, crystals, stones, chains, you name it.

Even though I loved what I did, I started to discover that they were only ornaments, they do not do anything good for you, except make your outfit more beautiful. That's why I started to get interested in semi-precious stones and crystals, which are composed of minerals.

We have minerals in our bodies, and these stones can bring you benefits if they touch your skin. I started to design a complete line of pendants so you can enjoy their benefits.

Please read about the semi-precious stones benefits.
